On June 10th, Brain Li, from BC program and Helen Shen, from IB program, received the second prizes in the competition,“Find Chinese Youth Who Can Change The World”, which was organized by CMBC.Congratulations！
All the city wide high school students wereable to take part in the competition, but had to meet the English requirements as a TOEFL score not less than 80 or an IELTS score not less than 6.5. The purpose of this competition is to give the students an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and an awareness of social responsibility. All the competitors were required to give a speech from their personal viewpoints of how they perceived themselves and the world; then they had to answer questions from the judges.
It is particularly worth mentioning that Brain Li and Helen Shen displayed excellent English speaking skills and were able to respond in an outstanding manner, which left a positive impression on all the judges and the audience. Further, our students’ English abilities are reflective of the high quality of teaching from our school and was noticed with praise.
From this memorable experience, Brain Li not only received commendations from others, he also had the opportunity to make friends and gain new friendships. Helen Shen said this experience provided her with a stage to express her own thoughts, and this was more meaningful for her than the prize.
